    • We used thermography to study transradial access (TRA) impact on hand microvascular perfusion at baseline and 30-days after TRA.
    • TRA is associated with temperature changes in both catheterization and non-catheterization hands at one month.
    • These observed temperature changes likely represent a systemic response to local TRA stimulus.
    • TRA influences hand temperature long after the external stimulus is removed.

    Background

    There is concern about potential detrimental effects of transradial access (TRA) on radial artery structure, endothelial and hand function. This thermography study evaluated TRA impact on hand microvascular perfusion.
