Bifurcation lesions are common amongst patients presenting with symptomatic coronary artery disease for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), accounting for 15–20% of such cases. The treatment of these lesions is associated with higher incidence of myocardial infarction (MI), stent thrombosis, and target lesion revascularization. To address these concerns, dedicated bifurcation stents have been designed to treat such lesions. We aimed to perform a meta-analysis to assess the utility of dedicated bifurcation stenting in patients with bifurcating coronary lesions.
