Outcomes of Direct Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Without Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty Using a New Generation Valve
Highlights
- • There is no clear data about outcomes of direct TAVR without Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty (BAV) using a new generation valve.
- • This is the largest study that compares outcomes of TAVR with and without BAV using a SAPIEN 3 valve.
- • TAVR using S3 valves is associated with very low rates of post-TAVR stroke and significant PVL.
- • Direct TAVR using new generation S3 valve is feasible, and outcomes of direct TAVR are similar to the outcomes of TAVR with BAV.
- • BAV avoidance does not increase rates of significant PVL, stroke, mortality, balloon post dilation, or the need for PPM.
