  • Challenges Remain for Global Trans-fat Elimination Efforts in Preventing Coronary Heart Disease

    Since accelerated global efforts to eliminate the use of industrially produced trans-fat (iTFA) began, 43 countries have adopted best practice regulations, protecting an additional 3.2 billion people against coronary heart disease (CHD). However, further incentives, accountability mechanisms and regional policies are needed to continue to build momentum and drive the goal of truly global iTFA elimination, experts warn.
