    Patients with documented nickel hypersensitivity are more than 10 times more likely to develop device syndrome after undergoing patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure than those without, according to the first prospective, double-blinded, randomized trial to evaluate the impact of nickel hypersensitivity on clinical outcomes.
